Babies have delicate skin, and sometimes it’s hard to tell if your baby just has a common skin rash or actual eczema. It usually shows up as patches of red or super-dry, scaly skin that’s extremely itchy. Your pediatrician can properly diagnose eczema by examining your child’s skin. For adults and babies with severe eczema and discomfort, contact your primary physician.
Colloidal oatmeal is ground-up oatmeal blended into a body cream or lotion. It’s long been used as a moisturizer in eczema creams to treat a whole host of dry skin conditions like eczema, and we love it because it’s natural and so gentle, making it a perfect ingredient to soothe baby eczema.
If you start to spot mild dryness, introduce a moisturizing cream into your baby's nighttime routine to add extra moisture and protect the skin barrier. Also, try to limit time in the tub to avoid your baby’s skin from drying out. Avoid products (such as shampoo and body wash) containing parabens and unnatural ingredients that can cause extra skin irritation and dryness. Our Gentle Nourishing Bathtime Routine provides long-lasting moisturization for your little one’s skin.
